Lipstick Vibrators – They’ll Never Know What’s In Your Bag

Lipstick vibes are members of the mini-vibrators family. These little guys are designed to be as discreet as possible, so you can keep them in your bedroom (or handbag) and no one will be the wiser … unless your friend borrows some without asking …

If you want to stick

BUYING A LIP VIBE

You’ll find yourself faced with two categories – really expensive one, and things that might fall apart after a few uses (aka good for gag/bachelorette party gifts etc.)

There is nothing wrong with either group. Just be aware of who you are buying from. A reputable seller should have some sort of guarantee or replacement policy.

If it’s Amazon, be aware there are a mix of winners and sinners out there … and that you get what you pay for. Don’t expect a $5 purchase to work miracles – expect it to work once, maybe twice and then die

WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR

  • POWER SOURCE– Battery or USB charger, both have their pros and cons, however, USB will usually be (at least a bit) better.
  • MATERIAL – Most are silicone or ABS plastic (both are safe).  There will be some suspect or “generic” ingredients (like medial gel etc). If that’s the case, contact the seller for confirmation on what it’s really made of.  You can also do a “burn test” (silicone won’t melt, only stain black or have an ash layer you can wipe off – plastic will melt).
  • SPEEDS – Some just come with one speed, others have more, even patterns. In general, cheap ones will have fewer options. Keep in mind that most women prefer steady speeds rather than patterns.
  • VIBRATOR – Strong, weak, buzzy, rumbly (all are different). Most prefer rumbly. Keep in mind, the smaller, the toy, the less room they have to work with components or places to put in good motors.

UNIQUE ASPECTS OF LIP VIBES

First, don’t expect something that will knock your socks off (power queens might not like these). Like I said before, the compact designs of the toy means you can’t fit a big vibrator inside, and they will naturally be weaker than their big brothers. So, when someone says, “Wow! This is really strong!” , take it with a grain of salt.

The same goes for “quiet.” With tiny toys, the cheaper they are, the louder they will be.

Second, they are meant for your clit. Forget insertion.

Last … CLEANING. There will be many places for fluids to hide (more so than other toys) that you’ll have to take a couple extra minutes to clean it. Warm water and soap, or toy cleaner, will be fine.

LIPSTICK VIBRATOR REVIEWS

IROHA STICK BY TENGA ($22)

STATS: silicone, battery-powered, variable speed, 1-year warranty

REVIEW: Tenga usually makes good stuff, and the price is a nice middle ground. The fact they stand behind their product with a warranty is what would push me to buy their product over another. It’s also not relevant, but I like the salmon color (where most are bubblegum pink or hooker red).

LIPSTICK VIBRATOR ($4.50)

STATS: medical “non-toxic” gel, battery operated

REVIEW: There have been many complaints of breakage and generally mixed feelings – people love it or hate it. What concerns me the most is the lack of important details. We can assume it’s one speed, but when they don’t tell us what it’s made from, that’s a big red flag.  But what can you expect for five bucks? I wouldn’t bring this within five feet of my vagina.

LIPSTICK VIBRATOR BY G-SPOT KENYA  ($34)

STATS: ABS plastic and medical “non-toxic” gel, battery-operated, waterproof, one speed.

REVIEW: Does this look familiar? It should It was exactly the same product as before, but a Kenya store threw a THIRTY-FOUR dollar price tag on it (at least that was the current conversion from KES to USD at the time of this article.)

This is another example of how unscrupulous some sellers can be (or they just don’t care about pawning off white brands).

They say “phthalate” free because it’s the new search term they know people are looking for. None of this actually tells us what it’s made from and if it’s porous or not. Another one to avoid … or burn.

MY SECRET LIPSTICK VIBRATOR  ($24)

STATS: Silicone + Elastomer Blend, four function settings, 80mins with one set of batteries, water resistant.

REVIEW: Screaming O puts money behind their product videos, which is a good sign.

You need to be careful though — Elastomer blends will be porous.

 SCREAMING O LIPBALM  ($7.40)

STATS: Single speed, maybe ABS? It doesn’t say.

REVIEW: I’m not sure why they would outright call it “reusable” unless it’s a party gag gift (but the company isn’t really known for that).

Perhaps it’s a way to sneak out of the fact it might break down after a use or two? All I know is that some sites have it discontinued. I’d honestly get the lipstick before the balm.

PIPEDREAM MINI MAX ($8.50)

STATS: Waterproof, multispeed, batteries included.

REVIEW: I don’t like when they don’t tell us what it’s made from. Perhaps ABS. People either rave about it or despise it (they would probably give it a 0/5 if they could).

Definitely a “buyer beware” sort of thing.

KANDI KISSES ($69)

REVIEW: This is one of the higher end ones. The tip has been described as soft, but with not much “give” (if that’s important to you). The vibrations were also called “extremely buzzy” which might be good for some, but bad for others.

I leave it up to you. However, for nearly 70 dollars, I would make sure the place has a return policy on top of the warranty.

LICKETY SPLIT ($25)

REVIEW: I’m not really convinced about this one. Shipping from Hong Kong, dodgy about details AND not that cheap.

I would stay away from it.

MULTI-SPEED LIPSTICK VIBRATOR ($13)

STATS: silicone & ABS plastic, splashproof, multispeed, battery operated

REVIEW: I like how upfront they are with all their details. Plus, silicone is always a safe bet. For the price, it’s certainly one to try.

LELO MIA 2 ($85)

STATS: USB rechargable, ABS, 6 speeds and 5 patterns, waterproof, 1-year warranty

REVIEW: Lelo makes everything. They also charge a lot. Even though I might not like their products, they will be much better to buy from than other sellers … if you can afford the steep price tag.

Would you rather have good-quality and power instead of something discreet?
